Our Writer’s Comment

Part 1(a) (25 marks): Start with a solid literature review by selecting at least five articles that provide a broad and deep understanding of the issues related to your case study. Ensure that your sources are diverse—covering different aspects like sociopolitical, economic, and religious factors. When discussing these factors, aim to connect them to how they contribute to the radicalization process. Highlight the complexity of the issues and demonstrate your ability to critically engage with the literature. This will show your depth of understanding and set a strong foundation for the rest of your report.

Part 1(b) (25 marks): When examining a radicalization pathway model, choose one that closely aligns with your case study. Be precise in explaining how this model fits the individual’s progression towards terrorism. Make sure you link the stages of the model directly to the events or factors in the case study. This will not only demonstrate your understanding of the theory but also your ability to apply it to real-world situations.

Part 1(c) (15 marks): For the strategies to counter radicalization, select those that are most relevant to the chosen pathway model. Analyze why these strategies would be effective, using evidence from your case study and literature. Don’t just describe the strategies—evaluate their strengths and potential limitations in the context of the specific case. This critical analysis will help you score higher.

Overall, ensure your report is well-organized, with each section logically flowing into the next.
