Our Writer’s CommentÂ
Start with a clear Objective of the Report. This section should concisely state what your report aims to achieve—assessing the building’s condition and providing actionable recommendations. A strong, focused objective sets a professional tone right from the start.
In the Building Brief/Information section, provide a thorough overview of the building. Include essential details like the type of building, its size, age, and any other relevant information. This background helps contextualize your findings later on.
The Condition Assessment is where you’ll describe the five most common building defects you’ve identified. Be specific and detailed in your descriptions. Use photos or diagrams if possible, as visuals can help illustrate your points more effectively. Don’t just list the defects—explain why they are significant and what their potential impact on the building could be.
For the Desktop Study, dig into the possible causes of these defects. This section should show your analytical skills—don’t just identify the problems, but explore the underlying issues that might have led to them, such as poor construction materials, design flaws, or environmental factors.
Finally, in your Conclusion and Recommendations, tie everything together by summarizing your findings and proposing practical solutions. Your recommendations should be clear, actionable, and tailored to the building in question. Explain why these solutions are the best course of action, and how they can prevent future issues.
