The objective of this assessment is to provide an opportunity for students to apply the concepts learnt in the course, independent thinking and analytical judgment to address the questions. Students need to demonstrate the ability to create an individual written report to illustrate the necessary knowledge on this course.

There is no minimum length for each question, but the maximum length is 1,500 words for each question. Depending on the marks allocated, some answers would warrant more words than others. Note that the quality of the answer is much more important than the number of words.

Supply chains constitute an integral part of China’s business environment. Building robust and resilient supply chains would thus be vital to business success. Importantly, one way to boost supply chains is through the digitalisation of logistics networks. Examine the logistics environment in China and appraise how digitalisation can help to
overcome China’s logistics vulnerabilities. In developing your answer, you should consider the following:

• Four (4) ways in which digitalisation can help to address China’s logistics challenges
• The future of China’s logistics environment.

The hype surrounding central bank digital currencies has been gaining traction in recent years. Notably, China is the first major economy to introduce its official digital currency – the e-CNY or digital yuan – and the country seeks to be at the forefront in experimenting a novel digital monetary system. Critically examine how the e-CNY would impact Chinese consumers, small businesses, and the country’s position in
international finance. Do you think that the e-CNY would be successful in the long run? Why or why not?
