This Tutor-Marked Assignment (TMA) requires you to write a 2000-word report by answering three (3) questions.

Question 1 (worth 40 marks):

Examine one public safety and security scenario in Singapore (you may use past incidents or imagine possible incidents) that requires close interagency cooperation. In your scenario, you should minimally describe the threats or hazards in that scenario, the safety and security risks
those threats or hazards could pose to the public, explain how security agencies in Singapore should work together to prevent and respond to your envisaged scenario, and the key measures of success of such an interagency response.

This assignment assesses how well students can integrate public safety theory with Singapore’s interagency security architecture. The challenge lies not in describing agencies or incidents, but in demonstrating how coordination, policy alignment, and information control shape effective responses.

A common weakness in Question 1 is over-emphasis on dramatic scenarios with insufficient analysis of risk pathways and coordination mechanisms. High-scoring responses keep the scenario plausible and focus on how agencies collaborate operationally and strategically.

For Questions 2 and 3, weaker submissions often become descriptive. Stronger work explains why certain ministries matter for public safety outcomes and how misinformation can escalate risks if not addressed through coordinated communication strategies.
