Our Writer’s Comment
This assignment is a critical report that tests whether students understand how leadership has evolved and can evaluate relevance in today’s business environment.
Common issues we see include
- Overly descriptive theory sections. Leadership models are explained without showing progression or critical comparison.
- Weak leader analysis. Leaders are described biographically instead of being analysed through leadership theory.
- Unjustified final evaluation. The selected leadership style is stated as “best” without a clear rationale or future development plan.
High-scoring reports demonstrate progression and judgement across all three tasks.
How to Perform Better for This Assignment
Markers reward critical thinking and coherence.
- Show leadership evolution clearly. Link early autocratic models to contemporary collaborative approaches using theory.
- Analyse leaders through theory. Every example must clearly demonstrate a leadership style.
- Compare benefits and limitations honestly. Balanced analysis scores higher than one-sided praise.
- Develop the chosen style further. Explain how it can be adapted to address complexity, diversity, and digital work environments.
Strong submissions read like critical business reports.
