You are expected to undertake appropriate research in the preparation of your essay. Length Limit
It is important to observe the stipulated limit regarding the overall length of your essay. Whilst this limit refers only to the main body of the essay, care should also be taken to ensure that the number, and length, of any appendices is appropriate and reasonable. The same applies to the amounts of any supporting information deemed appropriate. You must indicate the total word count of the main body of your essay at the end of the “Conclusions” section. It is normal practice to allow ± 10% of a stipulated limit before penalties begin to be imposed for undue length.

You should note that only the APA 6th System of Referencing is acceptable at Edinburgh Napier University; the Oxford (Numbering) System of Referencing is not used.
