Parkway College of Nursing and Allied Health was established in 2008 under Parkway-Pantai Limited which is a subsidiary of IHH Healthcare Berhad Ltd.

Parkway College’s Diploma in optometry (part-time) is the only programme in Singapore that is designed for the qualification of current Opticians or Optometrists. The programme has accreditation from Optometrists and opticians Board (OOB) of Singapore and upon accomplishment allows graduates to apply for provisional registration as an Optometrist.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) Optometry and Clinical Practice

Course Description:

  • The programme is registered with the Optometrists and Opticians Board (OOB) as licensed Optometrists (full, provisional or temporary). Also, the programme is approved by OOB as an “Displayable Additional Qualification”.
  • The programme exactly maps to the UK Optometry BSc programme for training world class optometrists. It includes the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills needed to enter work as an optometrist.
  • This programme is a 360 credit honours degree to be completed in a two-year period, 240 credit part-time course, available for students who have an approved qualification to enter direct to stage 2 through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
  • The programme is offered as a two-year (20 taught months) part-time course with 3 stages. Stage 2 and stage 4 are conducted in Singapore while stage 3 practical modules are conducted in the UK.
  • Some professors are from optometry experts of Aston University.
