Our Writer’s Comment
The assessment on developing an Action Plan for clinical issues is a crucial part of the clinical safety unit. To do well in this coursework, you must follow a structured approach. Firstly, it is essential to review your submitted case study and select two to three clinical issues that you would like to develop an action plan for. This could be any of the contributing factors, such as medication errors, patient falls, communication contributing factors, and others.
Then, gather background info by reviewing published data on the selected contributing factors. This could include research literature and clinical standards from one of the accreditation agencies like the Australian Commission of Safety and Quality for Healthcare.
Next, you can proceed to write the action plan, which should be structured into specific steps. The steps of an action plan should include the specific tasks that need to be achieved, who will complete the work, the timeline, resource allocation, and communication. The specific tasks should describe what needs to be achieved, the who section should specify who will complete the work, the timeline should specify when the tasks will be completed, resource allocation should mention the funds and staff that will be allocated, and communication should specify who should be informed about the action plan.
So nailing the assignment requires a structured approach and careful consideration of the steps involved in developing an action plan for clinical issues. By doing these things, you can produce a high-quality action plan that meets the requirements of the assessment.
