You have been requested by your nurse unit manager to do a teaching session to educate the nursing staff in your own clinical setting about the application of clinical reflection in their own professional practice. The
nurse manager believes that higher awareness of professional reflection will help the nursing staff to improve professionally.
The nurse manager is aware that you have recently studied the use of reflection in clinical practice. The nurse manager believes that you have the appropriate skills to provide this session to your nurse
colleagues.
You need to decide on the content and the approaches to be taken. You have been allocated 45 minutes at double staff time and you expect to have 6-8 learners attend the session. The teaching session will be a pilot teaching session (i.e. a test session) to help determine and improve future application clinical reflection teaching sessions for the ward.

You need to produce a complete 1500-word teaching plan that reflects the above noted Teaching focus scenario as it would apply to your own current clinical area in Singapore (or alternatively you can use a past
clinical area you have worked in).
A teaching plan is a holistic analysis and plan of the learning situation prior to a program being implemented. The teaching plan must discuss/analyse the context, learner, learning need, and provide the
intended learning outcomes, before the teaching strategy/s and methods are presented. Any anticipated strengths and limitations to the teaching plan must also be considered; along with the planned evaluation
strategy.
Your teaching plan will need to incorporate the following components

• Introduction
• Learning Context (Setting) (describe the organisational setting generally, the ward type, and also where the actual learning will take place – ensure to note any environmental requirements)
• Learning Need Evidence (discuss the learning need and relate it to EBP i.e. the current literature).
• Learner Type (discuss the dynamics of the intended learners/audience – e.g. learning needs, readiness to learn, learning style/s, sociocultural background/s and current situation)
• Learning Aims and Outcomes (Clearly provide the learning aims/outcomes and specific objectives expected from the teaching strategy/session – * Note: A numbered list is acceptable in this section. Ensure SMART formatting)
