Our Writer’s Comment

1. Strong Team Coordination

Since this is a team-based presentation, your group dynamics will play a key role. Make sure everyone is on the same page right from the beginning. Set up clear roles and responsibilities. Assign tasks based on each person’s strengths—someone could focus on research, another on the presentation design, and another on speaking.

Also, practice together! Having regular check-ins before the presentation will help the team stay aligned and ensure the final product is polished and cohesive.

2. Choosing the Right Case Study

Pick a global organization that is highly relevant to supply networks. Choosing a well-known organization with clear data available is a smart move because it gives you access to more secondary data and examples. Companies like Amazon, Walmart, or DHL, which have extensive global supply chains, might be great options. If you pick an organization outside the list, make sure it has a similar scale and complexity in terms of supply networks.

3. In-depth Research & Literature Review

You want to go deep into the trends of supply network operational management and information technologies. Start by reviewing academic journals, case studies, and industry reports. What’s working in the world of supply networks, and what new technologies are emerging? Then, think about how the pandemic has disrupted these trends.

Make sure your literature review is well-organized, showing the connection between theory and practice. If you can highlight how the organization you’re studying adapted to supply chain challenges during the pandemic, that will make your analysis stand out.

4. Analyzing the Impact of COVID-19

COVID-19 affected supply chains worldwide, so you’ll need to assess how the organization you’ve chosen handled the disruptions. Did they experience stock shortages, shipping delays, or shifts in consumer demand? How did they recover or pivot their strategies? Use both data and examples to back up your points. Your analysis should not just state the obvious but delve into how they overcame challenges or what they could have done better.

5. Secondary Data Collection

Remember, this assignment is based on secondary data, so you’ll be pulling information from existing sources like industry reports, news articles, and company reports. Make sure you collect and analyze this data thoroughly. Use credible sources and ensure your data directly ties back to your arguments. Don’t just present the data—interpret it in a way that strengthens your case study.

6. Abstract and Research Development

The abstract you submit in Week 6 is crucial because it sets the tone for your entire project. Work closely as a team to craft a clear, concise, and focused abstract. It should reflect your case study’s core areas: supply network management, information technology, and the impact of COVID-19. Once you submit it, stay aligned with the scope defined in the abstract—don’t deviate too much.

7. Engaging Presentation Delivery

When it comes to the actual presentation, engage your audience. Don’t just read off slides—use visuals, graphs, and data to support your points. Practice as a team to ensure a smooth, cohesive flow. Each member should be confident in their section, but also familiar with the entire presentation in case there are follow-up questions.

Remember, confidence and clarity in delivery can go a long way in boosting your marks!
