Requirements: 

Students are asked to critique two (2) job ads provided on SEEK. These ads can be in any discipline. They will assess their suitability/effectiveness against a number of criteria including company branding, matching people, environment & jobs, clarity, job description, is the experience/qualifications relevant, skills, knowledge, attributes, relevance of assessment criteria, assessing current labour market, alternate methods (recruitment agencies, universities etc), social networking, internal v external recruiting). Students demonstrate evidence of how well this is done using Talent Acquisition theory. One (1) of these ads should be what students consider to be of high standard and the other one (1) should be poor.

Students will produce a brief overview of their findings using the supporting matrix. Answers can be in dot point but should effectively explain their rationale. Finally, a 200-word (maximum) conclusion should identify and compare strengths and weaknesses of these advertisements and an expectation of what the recruiter may expect as a result.

From this analysis, students will identify common errors experienced in this phase of recruiting and identify some examples of best practice.
